What's a MUD?
It stands for Multi-User Domain, but there's a lot of different Multi-User games, or MU*s, out there, and a MUD is typically different from, say, a MUSH or a MUX. A MUD relies heavily on features as opposed to a MUSH. There's lots of MU*s out there, and lots of different types, but our game is a Roleplaying Enforced game, meaning when you're playing a character, you must remain in character at all times.
I thought this was an original superhero game! Half of these people look like rip-offs!
That's intentional! They're analogs, or pastiches of popular superheroes, which is very much a theme we're trying to catch just as much as wholly original ideas. Our game is a love letter to popular superhero fiction. Still, we'd like every character to be semi-original, so while you can play pastiches or analogs, your character should be your own creation.
When's this game supposed to come out anyway?
We're shooting for 2023, but we wouldn't be surprised if we bleed into early 2024. We have bled into early 2024! Looking more and more like 2025. 2026 is what we're shooting for. We're doing our best to give you the highest quality superhero MUD we can give you.
What's the explanation for all these people with powers?
While most people get their powers from cosmic radiation leaking into our world after a Diver Incident, there are all sorts of ways people get superpowers in SuperMUD. Some might know magic, some might be an alien or a robot, some might've been bitten by something radioactive or exposed to toxic waste, and some inherit their powers from their parents. SuperMUD will offer a lot of creative freedom.
