Focus Classes

Power Focus Classes

  • Access to stats that increase defense and attack.
  • Access to higher Stamina and Strength.
  • Eventual access to Giant Slayer, which allows someone with 4 points invested in Power or Combat Focus Classes to shorten the gap between them and people with more points invested.

Powerhouse

  • Access to more powerful physical stats, especially Stamina and Strength (moreso than just having a Power Focus Class).
  • Access to the Brawler combat tree, which focuses on giving your character staying power in a fight and sometimes let you boost your damage or movement temporarily.
  • Eventual access to Super Strength, which doubles your strength and grants you some powerful offensive disciplines.
  • Eventual access to Invulnerability, which makes you highly resilient to most forms of physical damage.

Speedster

  • Access to more powerful physical stats, especially Running.
  • Access to the Brawler combat tree, which focuses on giving your character staying power in a fight and sometimes let you boost your damage or movement temporarily.
  • Eventual access to Super Speed, which doubles your Running and grants you some powerful disciplines, including the strongest defensive discipline in the game.
  • Passive boosts to movement in battle with every point you invest in Speedster.

Shapeshifter

  • Access to Shapeshifting and many stats that compliment and enhance your shapeshifting abilities.
  • Access to more powerful physical stats.
  • Access to powers that enhance your perception.
  • Access to the Brawler combat tree, which focuses on giving your character staying power in a fight and sometimes let you boost your damage or movement temporarily.
  • Access to the Primal combat tree, which focuses on giving you tools for mobility and boosting your damage output.
  • Eventual access to even more powerful shapeshifted forms.

Tempest

  • Earlier levels force you to specialize in Weather or Nature Control.
  • Those who specialize in Weather Control gain abilities that affect the weather and the battlefield, and eventually get access to powers like Flight, and powerful offensive disciplines.
  • Those who specialize in Nature Control gain abilities that affect the ground and the battlefield as well, and eventually get access to powerful disciplines that both help them fight and protect themselves.
  • Eventual access to both Weather and Nature Control.

Elemental

  • Earlier levels force you to specialize in Pyrokinesis or Cryokinesis.
  • Those who specialize in Pyrokinesis gain abilities that allow them to harass opponents and use powerful disciplines to both blast their opponents and protect themselves.
  • Those who specialize in Cryokinesis gain abilities that allow them to slow and even immobilize opponent and also use powerful disciplines, including a discipline that helps fight those with Super Speed.
  • Access to Flight, with Cyrokinetics getting a unique Flight string.
  • Eventual access to Dual Elements, a Defining Power that allows access to both elements.

Psionic

  • Access to the most powers, although powers in this Focus Class are as a result very expensive.
  • The ability to interact with the Astral plane without being magical.
  • Many of the powers give you insight into other characters.
  • Access to the Psychic combat tree, which grants abilities that allow you to manipulate your opponent and grants you one of the most powerful offensive disciplines in the game.
  • Access to the Telekinetic combat tree, which grants abilities that let you move your opponent around on the battlefield, and grants you some powerful disciplines to both attack and defend with, as well as granting access to Flight.
  • Access to other discipline granting powers.

Combat Focus Classes

  • Access to stats that increase defense and attack.
  • Access to higher Stamina and Strength.
  • Eventual access to Giant Slayer, which allows someone with 4 points invested in Power or Combat Focus
  • Classes to shorten the gap between them and people with more points invested.

Hunter

  • Access to limited Hacking and Engineering skills, allowing you to spot cameras.
  • Access to the Martial Arts combat tree, giving you tactical options in melee combat and raising your unarmed damage.
  • Access to the Utility combat tree, allowing you to use various gadgets and other tools to harass your opponents.
  • Access to higher Stealth, while also granting you the ability to move unseen.
  • Access to higher Larceny, enabling you to bypass defenses.
  • Access to unique poisons that allow you to control fights temporarily.

Warrior

  • Access to the Martial Arts combat tree, giving you tactical options in melee combat and raising your unarmed damage.
  • Access to the Duelling combat tree, giving you even more tactical options in melee combat, and raising your melee weaponry damage.
  • Eventual access to Riposte, allowing you to reflect melee damage back.

Soldier

  • Access to the Riot Control combat tree, allowing you to use grenades and other tools to harass and manipulate your enemies.
  • Access to the Soldiering combat tree, allowing you to use your ranged weapons in enhanced ways, and raising your ranged weaponry damage.
  • Access to Demolitions, allowing you to destroy walls and doors.
  • Eventual access to Sniper Training, greatly increasing the range of your longarms.

Engineer

  • Access to the Riot Control combat tree, allowing you to use grenades and other tools to harass and manipulate your enemies.
  • Access to the Robotics combat tree, allowing you to offer support to synthetics, or to harass them in unique ways.
  • Access to Demolitions, allowing you to destroy walls and doors.
  • Access to Hacking, allowing you to spy on your friends and enemies.
  • Access to Wealth and Education, helping you keep up with your Professional counterparts.
  • Eventual access to Power Armor, which grants many powerful abilities.

Professional Focus Classes

  • Increased access to Wealth and Education, allowing you to landlord for your friends.
  • Increased access to Politics, making your influence spends more powerful.
  • Increased access to Henchmen, giving you minions who help in combat or with other tasks.

Scientist

  • Limited access to Hacking.
  • Access to Medicine, which helps the healing rate of people who don't have Healers helping them.
  • Access to Metachemistry, which allows Scientists to create serums that can grant temporary superpowers.

Socialite

  • Higher influence gains.
  • Even more powerful influence spends, with humans especially benefitting.

Entrepreneur

  • Huge business grants, with humans especially benefitting.
  • More meaningful wealth contributions.

Kingpin

  • Limited access to Demolitions and Larceny.
  • Access to Protection Detail, which allows henchmen to show up quicker.
  • Eventual access to Military Training and Disposable Muscle, greatly raising henchmen's effectiveness in combat.
